Post Jam Update
Hello, Children of Order!
I want to thank everyone that played and rated this game during the Godot Wild Jam #80! I read and liked every single comment during the voting phase, it is always very encouraging to see all the feedback. Thank you so much!
During the week I worked on an overall balancing patch with a few bug fixes, small tweaks and quality of life changes. Here is a list of the most noticeble changes:
- Added a "How to play" section to the options menu with detailed information on the game's core systems;
- Most premade items had their trigger conditions and effects nerfed. Infinite loops are still possible, but harder to achieve;
- Fixed a bug where a turn end would still trigger after all enemies had been defeated, causing strange interactions;
- Fixed a bug where regen gained triggers were not counted properly;
- Fixed a bug where the player would regain more freeze charges than what they had spent, leading to a surplus;
- Now all rerolls count towards reroll triggers, as opposed to only player rerolls;
- Added more sound and visual effects.
That is all for this patch... but not for the game! I've set a personal goal to make a larger update for a Steam release, planned to happen by the end of may. I'll work on what was scrapped during the jam and plan to have a demo for playtesting in about 3 weeks. Here is a list of content that I aim to add:
- Enemy reactions that work similar to items, with triggers and effects;
- Perks, which will act as passives with unique effects different from items;
- Unlockable challenges and run modifiers;
- Player stats and save files;
- Endless mode;
- New room backgrounds and environments.
If this sparked your interest, consider dropping a follow to stay tunned. Also, as a bonus, you can find the sprites I made for the game in the downloads. Feel free to use them in your projects, free of charge.
That is all I had. Bye!
